Aphrodite (Venus)

Ceramic sculpture overlaid with burnished Copper.

Carolyn Savidge 2025.

Aphrodite (Venus)

A brilliance of joint purpose,

the shine of pinkish copper, blackened dark.

Scorched alchemy conducts my inner conscious.

Secret about secret softens hard a Cuprum,

though too often, and far too deep.

Dialogue within turns malleable clay,

makes erotic the oxidising pain.

You talk of seashells, myrtle, rose,

and dove, sparrows, swans.

But there, a red blood warrior in conflict,

intimate goddess of war and peace.

Lust searching lights, sea foaming rising.

Not a rock little life.

No sleep is exempt or remains.

Shards of absence dim a perpetrators heart.

A hollow vessel beats like this,

think on how do we die

falling into the void?
