‘Middle Somewhere’

“What sort of bee would want to live here?”

On the edge of a cliff face with an undulating sandy skirt, sloping ridges lightly rising from the crest of an elusive sanctum, albeit set amidst a pile of immortal rubbish.

Smouldering litter, ash, shiny entities, tumbling dry stone walls, verges, wild flower meadows tarnished with dust and filthy scraps of the day.

Yet … amidst the wind swept debris I walk on through woods and valleys looking for a solitary pollinator, so hard to find, I have been told.

I am closer …. to the middle of somewhere …

I never did find my 182 bee.

“Pollution will pollinate the world in ways we haven’t even dreamed of.”

- Anthony T. Hincks
